What the leaderboard measures

The ranking counts commits authored by the connected developer on the default branch of each linked repository. Results can be viewed for today, this week, this month, this year or all time.

A commit count is an activity signal, not a universal measure of code quality or developer skill. IndieLeader uses it for friendly competition and momentum tracking, while keeping the limitations visible.

Fair rankings instead of contribution noise

Only repositories deliberately linked by their contributor enter the board. Automated activity, history rewriting and repositories created to farm commits are not allowed under the public competition rules.

How frequently does IndieLeader update?

Commit totals refresh automatically every three hours. A newly linked repository is also synced when it is added.

Does the highest commit count mean the best developer?

No. Commit count measures one kind of activity. It does not measure code quality, impact, complexity, collaboration or experience, so the leaderboard is intended as friendly competition.
